2025年5月，全国人大常委会组成执法检查组，对森林法开展执法检查。在接下来的4个月时间里，执法检查组深入国家公园、国有林场调研改革，检查三北防护林建设和造林绿化，走进林区随机抽查森林防火、国家储备林建设。深入查找法律实施中存在的问题，提出明确的意见建议，为修改完善森林法打下了坚实基础。
